Smothered Hamburger Steak

1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 c oats
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/2 c milk
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 - 10 oz can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c milk

Combine ground beef, oats, onion soup mix, 1/2 c milk and green pepper in a large bowl; mix well. Shape into patties. Place in an 8x10 inch microwave safe baking dish. Pour mixture of mushroom soup and remaining 1/2 c milk over patties. Microwave, loosely covered, on High for 20 minutes. Serve with potatoes, noodles or rice. Serves 4.
